The Hull Identification Quantity (HIN) can be a 12- or 14-character serial selection that uniquely identifies a boat. The HIN is analogous to your VIN on an automobile.

The main 3 digits are definitely the Producer’s Identification Code (ex. Boat model like Sea Ray, Meridian, and many others.).
